Later Genesis EQ900 model years may have start-stop or a battery sensor that controls charging. Where they do, the replacement has to be the same type (EFB or AGM) and may need registering to the car.

Genesis saloons and SUVs are fitted with AGM batteries from the factory. AGM suits the high electrical load and is the correct sealed type for a battery mounted inside the luggage area. The GV60 is electric and still has a 12V battery that runs the electronics and wakes the car.

On G70, G80 and G90 the battery is in the boot behind or under the trim, and GV70 and GV80 carry it in the cargo area. Jump starts use the terminals under the bonnet. There is a vent tube and a battery sensor on the negative terminal, and both must go back correctly. Dealer coding is not normally required. The sensor recalibrates by itself after the car has been left locked and switched off for a few hours.
