Its automotive batteries are built under licence by specialist car battery manufacturers, and the factory differs between regions, so check the label for origin. Are Duracell car batteries made by the same company as the AA batteries?
The brand is the same, but the car batteries are produced under licence by companies that specialise in automotive lead-acid batteries. Which company depends on the region. The label shows the country of manufacture, and our technician can show you the production date as well.
Which Duracell is right for my car: Starter, Advanced or Extreme?
Starter suits older cars with basic equipment. Advanced suits modern cars without start-stop. Extreme, in EFB or AGM, is for cars with start-stop. Send us the make, model and year and we will tell you the exact battery before the technician leaves.
Can I upgrade from Duracell Advanced to Extreme AGM?
Yes, in the same case size. AGM copes better with deep discharge and many accessories. On cars with a battery sensor the new type should be set in the car so charging is adjusted. Going the other way, from AGM to a conventional battery, is not advised.
What happens if the test shows my battery is still good?
Then we do not replace it. The technician tests the battery, the starter draw and the alternator output first. If the battery is only discharged, a jump start and a proper drive may be all it needs. If the fault is elsewhere, we tell you what we found.
