About the service

Oil Change: how we handle it

An oil change does not need a workshop visit. A technician comes to your home or office parking with the oil, the filter and the tools, drains the old oil, fits a new filter and fills to the correct level. You only need to give us the car make, model, year and engine so the right oil is brought.

Dubai driving is hard on oil. Heat, short trips, long idling with the AC on and dusty air all count as severe use in most service schedules. That is why many handbooks give a shorter interval for these conditions. Follow the handbook for your engine instead of a single figure that is supposed to suit every car.

How often should the oil be changed in Dubai?

Follow the interval in your handbook, and use the severe-conditions figure if it gives one. Heat, short trips and long idling shorten oil life. Cars driven very little should still have the oil changed on the time limit, since oil ages even when the distance is low.

Which oil will you use?

The grade and specification the manufacturer lists for your engine, for example the viscosity shown in the handbook or on the oil filler cap. If you prefer a particular brand, say so when booking and we will tell you if it is available in the right specification.

Can the oil be changed in a basement or tower car park?

Yes, where the building allows it and there is room to work around the car. The technician uses a drain pan or an extraction pump, protects the floor and takes the used oil away. Tell us the parking level and any access rules.

Is an oil change the same as a full service?

No. An oil change covers the oil and oil filter with basic level checks. A full service adds items such as the air filter, cabin filter, spark plugs, brake inspection and other scheduled work. If more is due, see car maintenance.
