The A4, A5, A6, A7, A8 and Q5 generally carry it in the boot under the floor, and the first-generation Q7 has it under a front seat. Cars with a remote battery have jump-start posts under the bonnet. After fitting, the new battery is adapted with a diagnostic tool (capacity, technology, manufacturer and serial) so the energy management starts from a known state.
