The Infiniti Q30 and its 12V battery

Later Infiniti Q30 model years may have start-stop or a battery sensor that controls charging. Where they do, the replacement has to be the same type (EFB or AGM) and may need registering to the car.

Most Infiniti models in the UAE use a conventional flooded battery with a high cranking rating to suit V6 and V8 engines. Newer models with stop-start, such as recent QX50 and QX60 versions, need the EFB or AGM type they were built with. Hybrid versions have a separate high-voltage battery that we do not service at the roadside.

The battery is under the bonnet across the range. On Q50, G and FX/QX70 it sits at the back of the engine bay under a plastic cover near the bulkhead, which takes a few extra minutes to remove. QX80 and QX60 are more open. No coding is needed, but after power is disconnected the one-touch windows usually need resetting and the idle may be uneven for a short time while the engine relearns.
