How Infiniti cars treat their batteries in the UAE

Battery technology

Most Infiniti models in the UAE use a conventional flooded battery with a high cranking rating to suit V6 and V8 engines. Newer models with stop-start, such as recent QX50 and QX60 versions, need the EFB or AGM type they were built with. Hybrid versions have a separate high-voltage battery that we do not service at the roadside.

Fitting and registration

The battery is under the bonnet across the range. On Q50, G and FX/QX70 it sits at the back of the engine bay under a plastic cover near the bulkhead, which takes a few extra minutes to remove. QX80 and QX60 are more open. No coding is needed, but after power is disconnected the one-touch windows usually need resetting and the idle may be uneven for a short time while the engine relearns.

Where is the battery on an Infiniti Q50?

Under the bonnet at the rear of the engine bay, close to the windscreen, under a plastic cover. The cover clips off. Hybrid versions are different and also carry a high-voltage pack, so tell us if your Q50 is a hybrid before we dispatch.

Do I need to reset anything after an Infiniti battery change?

Usually the one-touch windows: hold each switch down, then up, for a few seconds to relearn the limits. The clock and radio presets may need setting. The engine can idle slightly rough for a short while as it relearns. Our technician does these checks before leaving.

Why does my QX80 battery not last long?

Heat is the main reason. The battery sits beside a large V8, and long idling with the AC running keeps the engine bay hot while charging stays low. Short trips make it worse. A battery with the right rating and clean, tight terminals gives it the fairest chance.

Can I use a Nissan battery in my Infiniti?

The brand on the label matters less than the specification. If the case size, terminal layout, technology and rating match what your Infiniti needs, it will work. Many Infiniti and Nissan models share sizes, but not all, so we check against the fitted battery.
