How Jetour cars treat their batteries in the UAE

Battery technology

Earlier X70 and X90 versions generally use a conventional maintenance-free flooded battery. Newer models with automatic start-stop, including many Dashing, X70 Plus and T2 versions, need EFB or AGM. Plug-in hybrid versions keep a 12V battery for the control systems alongside the high-voltage pack. The technology is printed on the battery already in the car, and that is what we match.

Fitting and registration

The battery is in the engine bay on the petrol models and is reached from above once any plastic cover is removed. No scan-tool registration is normally required. On start-stop cars the sensor on the negative terminal must go back in place, and the system may need a few drives to resume. Plug-in hybrid versions are best checked from a photo first, because 12V battery position and access differ from the petrol cars.

How long does a Jetour battery last in the UAE?

There is no fixed figure. Heat, short trips and accessories all shorten battery life here compared with cooler countries. Have it tested once a year after the second summer, and sooner if cranking slows or start-stop stops working. A test tells you more than the age does.

Can you replace a Jetour T2 battery outside the city?

We cover Dubai, Abu Dhabi and Sharjah, including many outer roads. Share your location pin, the road and direction, and whether the car is on tarmac. Arrival depends on distance, traffic and access, and you get an estimate before the technician is dispatched.

Do accessories drain a Jetour battery?

They can. Dashcams in parking mode, fridges, light bars and trackers wired to permanent power draw current while the car is parked. We measure the standby drain during the visit. If it is high, a new battery alone will not solve it and the wiring needs attention.

Does a Jetour need coding after a battery change?

Normally not. After fitting we check that the clock, windows and warning lights behave correctly, since one-touch windows sometimes need resetting after power is disconnected. Start-stop may take a few drives to return. A warning that persists is tested rather than ignored.
