Battery technology

Most of the range uses a conventional flooded battery in a small JIS size. Versions with engine auto stop-start need a battery made for that duty, so check the label. Mild-hybrid (SHVS) versions sold in some markets pair a 12V lead-acid battery with a small lithium pack inside the cabin. We replace the 12V battery, and the lithium unit is dealer work.

Fitting and registration

On the passenger cars the battery is in the engine bay with clear access, which makes this one of the quicker fits. No coding or registration is needed on the conventional cars. Tray size, terminal position and post size all have to match, because the trays are small and leave no room for a near miss. On the Carry and similar light commercials the battery position differs from the cars, so a photo helps.

Can I fit a bigger battery in my Suzuki for the UAE heat?

Only if it fits the tray, the clamp and the terminal layout without modification. Suzuki trays are small, and a battery that is forced in can move, strain the cables or touch the bonnet. A correctly sized battery of good quality is the better answer.

Do you handle battery replacement for Suzuki fleet and delivery cars?

My Jimny battery keeps going flat. Is it the battery?

Does a Suzuki need any reset after a new battery?

Conventional models need no coding. You may have to reset the clock and radio presets, and the idle can feel slightly different for a short while as the engine computer relearns. Mild-hybrid versions are checked for warning lights before the technician leaves.
