About the service

Flat Tyre Fix: how we handle it

A flat tyre stops the trip wherever it happens: the hard shoulder of Emirates Road, a mall car park, your own driveway in the morning. Driving on it, even slowly, destroys the tyre sidewall and can damage the rim. The safer move is to stop somewhere out of traffic, switch on the hazard lights and call.

The technician brings a jack, wheel tools and a compressor. If you have a usable spare, it is fitted and its pressure set. If the tyre has only lost air, it is inflated and checked for a leak. If there is no spare and the tyre cannot hold air, we arrange a replacement tyre or a tow to a tyre shop.

What if my car has no spare tyre?

The technician first tries to inflate the tyre and find the leak. If it holds air well enough to reach a tyre shop, you drive there. If not, we arrange a replacement tyre of the right size where possible, or a tow to a tyre shop.

Can you fix a flat tyre on the highway?

Yes, if the car is stopped somewhere a technician can work safely, such as the hard shoulder or a lay-by. Stay out of the car and behind the barrier while you wait. If the position is too exposed, the car is towed to a safer spot first.

Is fitting the spare the same as repairing the puncture?

No. Fitting the spare gets you moving. The punctured tyre still needs inspecting from the inside to decide if it can be plugged and patched or must be replaced. That is a separate puncture repair, done afterwards.

How long will it take to reach me?

Arrival depends on your location, traffic and access, and you get an estimate before the technician is sent. Once on site, changing a wheel is normally quick. A seized wheel, a missing locking nut key or a damaged spare adds time.
